David Kinder
UK Alternate Executive Director

 

David Kinder is currently serving as Alternate Executive Director for the United Kingdom at the Board of the World Bank Group. Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Kinder spent over 10 years working in various positions across the UK Government, mostly at the UK Treasury, but also at the Cabinet Office and the Department of Energy and Climate Change. From 2014 to 2016 he was the Deputy Director for Public Sector Workforce, Pay, and Pensions at HM Treasury, covering expenditure of over $250bn a year. Other senior positions at HMT Treasury and the Cabinet Office have included Deputy Director, Financial Services; Deputy Director for Tax Administration, Spending, and Reform; Deputy Director Markets for Government Services and Deputy Director Euro-area Contingency Planning. Over his career.

Mr. Kinder obtained a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of Marne-La-Valle in Paris and has an Undergraduate degree from the University of Leeds.

In 2013, he founded the Treasury’s Mental Wellbeing Network and is an open advocate for reducing stigma related to mental health issues. He is also an avid sports fan.
