​Graduation at the Organization of American States

 

The culmination of the second International Young Leaders Assembly, with an overall 800 young leaders from over 70 countries was celebrated in the headquarters of the Organization of American States on Wednesday August 28th. The festive and emotional reception, sponsored by the Mission of Paraguay to the OAS and the Embassy of Paraguay, took place in the Hall of Heroes.

 

IYLA participants received certificates that celebrated their achievement of becoming IYLA Global Ambassadors, an award that honors young leaders who aspire to make a global impact, and the culmination of the 10 day-program filled with exceptional speeches, forums, visits, and interactions.

 

The reception counted with the presence of Congressmen G.K Butterfield, First Vice-Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus who addressed the young delegates. The International President for Global Peace Foundation, Jim Flynn, and the Co-Chair for the Host Committee of IYLA, John Dickson, also delivered powerful speeches of gratitude.

 

The Ambassador of Paraguay to the US, Fernando Pfannl, and the Ambassador of Paraguay to the OAS, Martin Zannemann, were recognized for their support throughout the DC Program as Paraguay took a lead role in sponsoring IYLA.
