Graduation at the Organization of American States

The culmination of the second International Young Leaders Assembly, with overall 800 young leaders from over 70 countries was celebrated in the headquarters of the Organization of American States on Wednesday August 28th. The festive and emotional reception, sponsored by the Mission of Paraguay to the OAS and the Embassy of Paraguay, took place in the Hall of Heroes. Surprisingly, the Organization of American States is the oldest international organization in the world.

Paraguay Landfill Orchestra Concert at the Kennedy Performing Arts Center

The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is filled to the walls as a large crowd gathers around a small stage. Excitement is building in the room. Roaring applause fills the long halls as the Landfill Harmonic Orchestra graces the stage. The Landfill Harmonic Orchestra began from a Paraguayan slum was children could not afford instruments. So they made their instruments from other people’s trash.
