Michael Marshall

Editor Emeritus, United Press International

 

Michael Marshall has served as editor-in-chief of United Press International, the international news agency, since 2003. He has also been a member of UPI's board of directors since 1999.

 

He is Vice-president for Editorial Affairs of News World Communications Inc., a media company that owns UPI as well as The Washington Times.

 

From 1986 until 2003 he was executive editor of the The World & I magazine, a weighty monthly international, intercultural, interdisciplinary magazine with a renaissance flavor aimed at educators and educational institutions as well as lifelong learners.

 

Prior to coming to America, Marshall worked in London, editing The New Tomorrow, a monthly general interest and feature magazine, and The London Rising Tide a biweekly broadsheet of political and cultural commentary.

He holds an M.A in History from Cambridge University, England.
