Karen Scheuerer

 

Karen Scheuerer is the Youth and Volunteerism Specialist at the Peace Corps, where she works to bolster efforts to support volunteerism in Peace Corps host countries and engage youth as resources to address pressing community issues. Before joining the Peace Corps’ staff, Karen worked at the Girl Scouts of the USA where she led strategy for service learning and integrated global education into the Girl Scout leadership experience. In past roles, Karen has served as the Director of the Neighborhood Information Resources at Citizens for New York City, an organization dedicated to supporting grassroots community organizers, a Research Project Manager at the University of Michigan, and as both an AmeriCorps volunteer and Peace Corps Volunteer. Karen earned her B.A. in History from Wellesley College and holds a Master of Science in Information from the University of Michigan. She also earned an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Adult Learning and Facilitation from the City University of New York.
