Shinwon Moon

Shinwon Moon earned a Bachelor of Science from West Point in 2011, where he graduated with honors. Soon after receiving his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army, he deployed to Afghanistan in 2012, where he earned theBronze Star Medal and the Combat Action Badge while serving as a Platoon Leader in charge of a combat outpost in Sangsar, the “birthplace of the Taliban”. Following his combat tour in Afghanistan, Mr. Moon served with distinction in positions of increasing responsibility from Platoon Leader to Executive Officer to Company Commander. His final assignment before receiving his honorable discharge was the successful command of a company of 240 Soldiers. He earned a Meritorious Service Medal following the assignment, a distinction typically reserved for more senior officers.
